We're excited to announce that effective today, 1st June 2022, the second priority status applications are open.
Under the second priority status, any existing domain holders having other extensions such as domain.co.tz, .or.tz, ac.tz etc. registered between 01 March 2022 and 31 May 2022 are eligible to apply to reserve for the second level '.tz' domain.

1. How do I apply for my second level .TZ domain?
Applying for your second level domain is easy.

- We will send you an invoice to complete the payment.
- Our team will lodge your application to reserve the domain.
2. Why should I change from .co.tz to .tz?
There are a few reasons why you might want to; including:
- Shorter domain name
- Intellectual property or brand protection
- Be different and stand out from the rest
3. What will be the cost of second level .TZ domain?
Second level .TZ domain can be applied for TZS 100,000/= or USD 42.50/=
4. Can I use the second level domain immediately?
No, second level .tz domains will be held under reserve status up-to 1st July 2022 when the domains will be published into zone.
5. Is there a reserved name list?
Yes, two character domains cannot be registered including other names reserved for government. For the entire list, please click here.
